Patricia Baker, age 88, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. Patricia was born April 14, 1924 at Ashton, Kansas, the daughter of John Walter & Lillian Mae Hutchins Kinlund. She was a 1942 graduate of Greeley County High School and a returning resident of Tribune since 1971 moving from Salina, Kansas. Patricia served the United States war effort as an original "Rosie the Riveter" at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas during World War Two, was a lunch lady at Greeley County High School and an employee of the State of Kansas at the Port of Entry Depot until it's closing in the 1980's.
Patricia was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Tribune, Kansas.
On August 22, 1944 she married Donald F. Baker. He passed away on July 17, 1971 at Beeville, Texas.
Patricia's surviving family includes-
Two daughters
Rita Kuhn- Tribune, Kansas
Nancy Jo Baker- Garden City, Kansas
One sister-
Priscilla Kleymann- Tribune, Kansas
Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren
Her parents, a son, Donald R. Baker and two sisters, Virginia Sleigh and Maxine Higbee have preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am (MDT) Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Michael Underwood officiating.
Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery with VFW Auxiliary rites provided by the Tribune VFW Auxiliary.
Friends may call from noon until 8:00 pm Tuesday and from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to Silent Angels Animal Shelter in Leoti or Mosaic in Garden City in care of the funeral home.
