Opal Miller

Scott City, Kansas Opal M. Miller, age 98, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. Opal was born November 9, 1913 at Dunlap, Kansas, the daughter of William & Effie Guthrie Inman. She was employed in the Shallow Water School System for many years, later serving as a Docent at the Scott County State Park as well as being a homemaker. She had been a Scott County resident since 1946, moving from Ohio. Opal was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren at Friend, Kansas. On October 19, 1937 she married John Feals Miller at Strong City, Kansas. Feals passed away on July 13, 1953 at Scott City, Kansas. Opal's surviving family includes- Four children- Margaret & John Scalia- Estes Park, Colorado Wilma Miller- Greeley, Colorado Bill & Barbara Miller- Scott City, Kansas David & Charlene Miller- Aurora, Colorado Five grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren Her parents, two sisters, five brothers and one son precede her in death. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Prairie View Church of the Brethren Cemetery at Friend, Kansas with Pastor Jon Tuttle officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday and from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral Home website at priceandsons.com
