Norma Jean Binns Sherwin

Norma Jean Binns Sherwin passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on December 18, 1932, in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Anton and Ruth Gottlob Dvorak. In 1950, Norma graduated from Scott Community High School. She was a resident of Scott City, Kansas, since 1949, moving from Winfield, Kansas. She was an Avon Representative for fifty years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas. Norma was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a round and square dancer, an RV traveler, and a master flower gardener.

On April 8, 1950, she married James Edward Binns in Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on May 3, 2000, in Austin, Texas. On September 22, 2001, she married Warren Sherwin at Camp Lakeside in Scott County, Kansas. He passed away on November 4, 2023, in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her Son - Tony and Leanna Binns of Leoti, Kansas, One Grandson - T.J. and Amy Binns of Leoti, Kansas, Three Granddaughters - Janene and Dave Dawson of Russellville, Arkansas, Amy and Chris Hamblin of Phoenix, Arizona, Jenny LaGesse and Larry Mortazavi of Denver Colorado, Four Great Grandsons, One Great Great Granddaughter, One Son-in-law - John and Terese LaGesse of Lawrence, Kansas, Three Step Daughters - Rhonda and Steve Ashworth of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Brenda Sherwin of Jacksonhole, Wyoming, Shelly Sherwin of Douglas, Arizona, Two Step Granddaughters, Three Step Grandsons and One Step Great Great Granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter - Diane LaGesse, Stepson- Scott Sherwin, and Stepdaughter - Karen Sherwin.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas, with Pastor Don Williams presiding.

The interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Scott City Animal Rescue in care of Price and Sons, P.O. Box 552, Scott City, KS 67871.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
