Nicholas Tankersley

Nicholas Lee Tankersley, age 18, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009, in Leoti, Kansas. Nick was born December 26, 1990 in Leoti, Kansas the son of Steve L. & Traci Ann Spradling Tankersley. He was a 2009 graduate of Wichita County High School and was enlisted to begin basic training with the United States Marine Corp in September. Nick was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Marienthal, Kansas. While a student at W.C.H.S., he participated in F.F.A. , Football, Basketball, Golf and Track. Nick's Survivors include - Parents- Steve & Traci Tankersley- Leoti, Kansas Two brothers - Clint & Monica Tankersley- Andover, Kansas Justin & Mindy Tankersley- Hutchinson, Kansas Two sisters- Shawna & Chris Tecklenburg- Hutchinson, Kansas Elizabeth Tankersley- Leoti, Kansas Grandmothers Beverly & Manny C de Baca- Canon City, Colorado Jeanne Spradling - Baldwin City, Kansas Four nephews & two nieces- Garrett, Hudson & Grayce Tankersley- Andover, Kansas Tyler, Treyden & Avery Tecklenburg- Hutchinson, Kansas Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Vigil Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Marienthal, Kansas. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Wichita County High School Booster Club or the Leoti E.M.T.'s in care of the funeral home.
