Neil J. Bland, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on July 8, 1934, in Plainville, Kansas, the son of Harley Cecil & Lilly A. Smith Bland. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1971 moving from Colby, Kansas, he was a technician for KN Energy from 1966 until he retired in 1995.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas and a US Army Veteran.
On July 15, 1963, he married Thelma R. Meis in Plainville, Kansas. She passed away on June 24, 2014, in Colby, Kansas.
Survivors include his Four Sons - Byron Bland of Hays, Kansas, Warren Bland of Scott City, Kansas, Randall & Melissa Bland of Garden City, Kansas, and Ryan & Amanda Bland of Trenton, Nebraska, and Five Grandchildren.
Neil was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife - Thelma, and Two Sisters - Eunice Baham & Irma Ewing.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas with Fr. Rudin Din presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
