Myrna Mott

Garden City, Kansas Myrna N. Mott, age 93, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on June 6, 1927, in Pierceville, Kansas, the daughter of Ira and Cecil Clark Bates. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas. Myrna was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to garden and took pride in maintaing a nice home where she enjoyed spending time with friends and extended family. She loved the Lord and kept her bible close by the chair. She had a special talent of remembering birthdays of family members and neighbors. On August 22, 1948 she married Melvin Mott in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include: Three Sons Larry (Ramona) Mott of Marlow, Oklahoma Mark Mott of Garden City, Kansas Clinton (Casey) Mott of Garden City, Kansas Four Siblings George Bates of Lakin, Kansas Elinor Paasch of Fayetteville, Arkansas Nina Birkle of Garden City, Kansas Louise Hokanson of Wichita, Kansas two grandchildren, five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ray Bates and Shirley Brinning. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 1-8 pm with the family present from 5-7. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Phillips officiating. Funeral services will be streamed live on the funeral homes Facebook page. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
