Myrna Grimes

Garden City, Kansas Myrna Belle Grimes, age 89, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on March 6, 1922 in Ingalls, Kansas the daughter of Ray and Marietta Henderson Glaze. A resident of Garden City since the early 1940's she had worked for the City of Garden City, the Finney County Senior Center and most recently for Price & Sons Funeral Home. She was a charter member of the Word of Life Church, the Garden Valley Sams, the Happy Campers, the Garden City Kennel Club, RSVP and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary all of Garden City, Kansas. On August 11, 1940 she married Roger Stillwell. On June 30, 1972 she married Russell Grimes in Scott City, Kansas. He died October 2, 1988 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors Include: Two Sons, Roger Dean Stillwell of Meeker, Oklahoma and, Terry Leon Stillwell of Fountain, Colorado Two Daughters, Myrna Lavon Hamill of Garden City, Kansas and Brenda Jo Scott of Taylorsville, Utah; Two Step-Sons, Steve & Jim Grimes of Green Castle, Indiana; One Step-Daughter, Debbie Snyder of Vero Beach, Florida; Ten Grandchildren, Twenty-Seven Great-Grandchildren and Eight Great-Great-Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Word of Life Church in Garden City, Kansas. Burial will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Myrna Grimes Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
