Mildred Rosetta Farr, age 95, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on September 13, 1915 in Gove County, Kansas, the daughter of David Andres and Elizabeth Ellen Walker Russell. Mildred was a homemaker and had been a resident of Garden City since 1998.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
On April 3, 1934 she married William Oliver Farr in Scott City, Kansas. He died May 28, 1982 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Sons, Don (& Roberta) Farr of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Leon Farr of Scott City, Kansas; Two Daughters, Shirley Bennett of Garden City, Kansas and May (& Ralph) Carpenter of Garden City, Kansas; Eighteen Grandchildren, Fifty-Three Great-Grandchildren and Twenty-Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Two Sons, Delbert & Norman Farr, a Daughter, Brenda Farr, a Brother, Edwin Russell, a Sister, Idella Wright, Two Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00am-5:00pm on Thursday and from 10:00am-8:00pm on Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Mildred Farr Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
