Mildred Archibald

Mildred E. Archibald, age 98, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on June 9, 1911 in Toronto, Kansas, the daughter of Archie and Elizabeth Frick Meairs. A lifetime resident of Garden City, Kansas, she was a retired Registered Nurse. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, A founding member of the Mothers Club, Hawkins Circle, Eastern Star, and the Red Hat Club. On January 12, 1933 she married John Archibald in Garden City, Kansas. He passed away on November 18, 1990 in Garden City, Kansas. Other Survivors Include her Four Daughters - Dianne L. Braddock of Surprise, Arizona, Myrna J. Tienken of Portland, Oregon, Sherri A. Barry of Springfield, Illinois, and Kathleen Leggitt of Pasadena, California, Twelve Grandchildren, Seventeen Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Infant Son, Three Brothers and Three Sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Reverends Brenda Fluellen. There will be no calling times. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be given to the Methodist Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
