Michael J. Turner, age 56, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 on his farmstead near Holcomb, Kansas. He was born May 22, 1951 in Rocky Ford, Colorado the son of Melvin and Rowena Skinner Turner. A resident of Holcomb since 1955 moving from Rocky Ford, Colorado, he was a farmer, rancher and equipment contractor.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both of Garden City, Kansas. He was a past member of the Soil Conservation District Board of Directors.
On November 12, 1971 he married Michelle Kraus in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include: One Son, Ryan Turner of Severna Park, Maryland; One Daughter, Lindsay Turner of Baltimore, Maryland; His Mother, Rowena Turner of Garden City, Kansas; Two Sisters, Melva Barlow of Inman, Kansas and Linda Baier of Holcomb, Kansas; and Two Grandchildren, Aidan Michael and Liam James Turner both of Severna Park, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Turner.
A Memorial Mass will be said at 10:00am on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Father Trong Tran presiding.
There will be no calling times.
Private Family Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the St. Mary's Pew Restoration Project in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
