Merlin M. Gardner, age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on March 24, 1921 in North West Wichita County, Kansas, the son of Clarence Artley & Ethel Blanch Davis Gardner. A lifetime resident of Wichita County and Scott County, he was a Farmer and was the owner and operator of Gardner's Inc. in Leoti, Kansas.
A United States Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas and a member of the Capper's Club and was a 4H Leader.
On January 13, 1944 he married Lois Elene Hahn in Kearny County, Kansas. She passed away on June 10, 1979 in Tribune, Kansas.
Survivors include his Two Sons - Arthur & Linda Gardner of Berryville, Arkansas, David & Jenet Gardner of Leoti, Kansas, Three Daughters - Susan & David Leebrick of Fort Collins, Colorado, Diana Brandt of Scott City, Kansas, Carol & Rick Koros of Little Rock, Arkansas, Twenty Grandchildren, Two Step Grandchildren , Thirty Great Grandchildren and One Step Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Three Brothers and Two Sisters.
Memorial Services will be held at the Parks Community Church in Wichita County, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 with Terry Woodbury presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Merlin M. Gardner Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Homes.
Inurnment will be in the Parks Community Church Cemetery in Wichita County, Kansas.
There will be no calling times.
