Merilyn J. Krause, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on March 7, 1931 in Norton, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy and Ruth Reed Keener. A resident of Scott Community since 1952 moving from Norton, Kansas. Throughout her life, Merilyn was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, 4-H Leader and an active community member.
Merilyn received her teaching certificate from Fort Hays State University where she met her husband Paul, both active members of the Wesley Foundation.
On June 7, 1952 she married Paul E. Krause in Norton, Kansas. He passed away on February 17, 2010 in Garden City, Kansas.
Her memberships include the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, High Plains Study Club, Scott County Arts Council and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority all of Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include her One Son -Rick & Lori Krause of Modoc, Kansas, Two Daughters - Starla Krause of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robin Krause of Minneapolis, Minnesota, One Grandson - Bram Paul Krause of Scott City, Kansas and One Sister - Sheryl Morris of Cortland, New York.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband.
Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
*Following services the family will receive friends and family in Baker Hall for Tea and Fellowship.*
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Mexican-American Ministries or Kids Cook Classroom in Minneapolis, Minnesota c/o Price & Sons Funeral Home.
