Melvin L. "Corkey" Kirk, age 74, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 11, 1939 in Guymon, Oklahoma, the son of Roy Roscoe and Marguerite Lillian Fankhouser Kirk. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 2003 moving from Grand Prairie, Texas, he was a US Navy Veteran and a career US Army Officer with the rank of Sargent First Class. Survivors Include his Two Daughters - Thomasiana Brown of Scott City, Kansas, Betsy Kirk of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Michael Kirk of Arlington, Texas, Steven Kirk of Fort Worth, Texas, Three Brothers - Richard & Wanda Kirk of Scott City, Kansas, Clifton & Doreen Kirk of Milton, Florida, Gale & Pam Kirk of Licking, Missouri, One Sister - Aleece Collamore of Waxahachie, Texas, Special Niece - Sapphire Kirk of Dighton, Kansas, Four Grandchildren - Sara, Amanda, Travis & Larry Jr., Four Great Grandchildren - Elizabeth, Dakota, Caleb, & Justin. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Sister and One Brother. Funeral Services will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding. Memorials amy be given to the Melvin Kirk Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
