Maxine E. Jewell

Garden City, Kansas Maxine E. Jewell, age 91, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Presbyterian Manor Of The Plains in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on December 1, 1922 in WaKeeney, Kansas the daughter of Peter L. and Ida Mae Herman Lessor. A resident of Garden City since 1941, she had been the owner and operator of Maxine’s Beauty Salon in Garden City, Kansas.. She was a member of the Community Congregational Church of Garden City, Kansas. On July 28, 1942 she married Tony Jewell in Garden City, Kansas. He died May 25, 2006 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors include: Two Daughters, Rhonda Atkinson of Beulah, Colorado and Denise Jewell-Olsen of Anchorage, Alaska; Six Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Rick Jewell and 9 brothers & sisters. Private family graveside service will take place at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be given to the Presbyterian Manor Of The Plains in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
