Matilda Helen Smith

GARDEN CITY

Matilda “Tilly” Helen Smith, age 86, died at her residence on December 11, 2017 in Garden City, Kansas.  She was born on August 18, 1931 in Marienthal, Kansas the daughter of Fred Casper and Clara Anna Fox Baker.

She has been a Garden City resident for 45 years moving here in 1973 from Marienthal, Kansas.

On October 25, 1950 she married Altie Francis Smith.  He preceded her in death on June 20, 1990.

Survivors Include:

    Five Sons                Carl and Rita Smith of Ozark, Missouri

                        Dale and Samantha Smith of Oakley, Kansas

                        Eddie Smith of Holcomb, Kansas

                        Danny and Debbie Smith of Deerfield, Kansas

                        Vernon and Annette Smith of Garden City, Kansas

    Two Daughters            Janice and John Russell of Muskogee Oklahoma

                        Anita and Lee Routh of Garden CIty, Kansas

    24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, Two Great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Doris, one son, Gary, three sisters, and two great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10 AM.

Interment will be held immediately following mass in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Marienthal, Kansas.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas at 7:30 pm.

Visitation will be from 2-8 Wednesday and 10-4 at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City or to the American Cancer Society % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
