Mary Scott, age 104, passed away at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas on Sunday, September 23, 2012. She was born on October 13, 1907 in Cumberland, Wyoming, the daughter of Anton and Threasa Pangre Perner. In 1926 she graduated from High School at Westminister College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She then attended Westminister College and received a Teaching Certificate. Mary was a resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1935 moving from Rock Springs, Wyoming.
She was a desk clerk at the Robinson Hotel in Scott City for many years. Lovingly known as "Scotty" she was an integral part of the lives of both the Elmore and Kirk families.
Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, Scott County Golf Club, the Study and Social Club and Progressive Farm Bureau Unit. She was
also a children's Sunday School Teacher.
Mary was a great cook, she loved to play cards, do needlework, and play golf.
In 1927 she married Joseph H. Scott. He passed away on January 11, 1976 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include her Three Daughters - Madeline Murphy of Scott City, Kansas, Charlotte Utley of Duncan, Oklahoma, Marvel Hopkins-Keyse and Norman of Scott City, Kansas, One Son in Law - Francis Miller of Leoti, Kansas special family members - Debbie Campbell and Wes of Garden City, Kansas, Dan Elmore of Salina, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren and Four Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, One Daughter - Patricia Miller, Six Brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 with Steve Payne & Rev. Scott Wagner presiding.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or Park Lane Nursing Home % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
