Mary Doornbos

Mary J. Doornbos, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Auburn, Alabama. She was born on May 21, 1940 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Ronald Ralph and Inez Marie Crist Beach. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Beta Sigma Phi both of Scott City, Kansas. She also was a member of the Kansas State Alumni Association and Alpha Delta Phi Sorority. On August 27, 1961 she married Dr. Jerry A. Doornbos in Scott City, Kansas. He survives. Survivors Include her Husband - Dr. Jerry A. Doornbos of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Stuart Doornbos of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Sara Doornbos & husband Dr. W. Wes Williams of Auburn, AL, One Grandson - Creighton Williams of Auburn, AL, One Brother - Dr. Terry & Martha Beach of Phoenix, Arizona, One Sister - Sharilyn & Doug Young of Park Hill, Oklahoma and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with the Rev. Scott Wagner presiding. Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. MEMORIALS IN LIEU OF FLOWERS may be given to the First Christian Church or Scott County Library in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
