Marvin F. Turley, age 75, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on September 29, 1933 in Syracuse, Kansas, the son of Uless Francis and Nora Marie Smith Turley. Marvin was a resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1936, moving from Greeley County, Kansas and was a carpenter. His memberships include the First Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas, Scott County Historical Society, El Quartelejo Saddle Club, American Quarter Horse Association, Butterfield Trail Ride Association, and was a 4-H Leader. On August 22, 1997 he married Jolynn Boyd in Colby, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Jolynn Turley of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Steve & Tamela Turley of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Stephanie & Kevin Austin of Perkins, Oklahoma, Three Brothers - Wayne & Bertie Turley of Maize , Kansas, Clifford & Joanie Turley of Garden Plain, Kansas, Danny Turley of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Two Sisters - Theda Thompson of Greeley, Colorado, Elsie Wright of Scott City, Kansas, Three Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Brothers â Melvin Turley and Teddy Turley, One Sister â Jessie Wright, and One Grandson â Tony Turley. Funeral Service will be at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 with the Rev. Jeff Knighton presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the El Quartelejo Museum% Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
