Martin Torson

Martin L. Torson, age 71, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on November 3, 1939 in Dighton, Kansas, the son of Vernon Mel and Mary Alice Teeters Torson. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1957 moving from Dighton, Kansas, he was a Cowboy. He was a member of the First Christian Church and AA both of Scott City, Kansas. On September 15, 1959 he married Mary L McEachern in Juarez, Mexico. She survives. Survivors Include his Wife - Mary L. Torson of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Martin & Debbie Torson, Jr. of Shawnee, Kansas, Four Daughters - Doreena & Randy Marshall of Garden City, Kansas, Becky & Lewayne Tresner of Pratt, Kansas, Joletta & Jack Mize of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Shelly & T. Barnes of Shawnee, Kansas, Four Brothers - Vernon Torson, Jr. of Dighton, Kansas, Tony Torson of Sublette, Kansas, Rickey Torson of Dighton, Kansas, Victor Torson of Dighton, Kansas, Two Sisters - Beverly Bockelman of Shields, Kansas, Melva Barnett of Dighton, Kansas, Twelve Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Grandson â Spencer Buck, Two Sisters and One Brother. Memorial Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 with Steve Payne presiding. Inurnment will be in the Dighton Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. There will be no calling times.
