Martin Brau

Martin James Brau, age 83, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on May 7, 1929 in Lake View, South Dakota, the son of Albert John and Clara Ellen Ratigan Brau. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1941 moving from South Dakota. Martin was a retired mechanic for Wheatland Electric for 38 years from 1956 until he retired in 1994 and was a US Army Veteran holding the rank of Sargent in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas, Knights Of Columbus, VFW Post #7773 and the Lake Scott Car Club all of Scott City, Kansas. On August 26, 1950 he married D. Corrine Shearmire in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away on February 12, 2006 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors Include his One Daughter - Gloria & Everett Wren of Scott City, Kansas, Three Sons - Don & Terri Brau of Scott City, Kansas, Ed & Liz Brau of Holcomb, Kansas, Mark & Sheila Brau of Scott City, Kansas, Two Brothers - Albert Brau of Sylvia, Kansas, LaVern Brau of Springdale, Arkansas, Two Sisters - Mary Ann Binns of Garden City, Kansas, Sister Annrene Brau of Independence, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Two Sons - James M. Brau & Michael D. Brau, Two Brothers, One Sister, Four Half Brothers and One Half Sister. Vigil Services will be held St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Funeral Services St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding. Memorials may be given to the Scott County VIP Center or St. Joseph Catholic Church% Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
