Marjorie E. Elder

Marjorie E. Elder, age 94, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas.  She was born on December 16, 1928, in Meade, Kansas, the daughter of John Frederick & Vergie Irene Morrison Baker.  A resident of Wichita County, Kansas since 1941 moving from Stratton, Colorado, she was a homemaker and Co-Owner and Operator with Gloria Long of The Sewing Box.  

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas, Clerk for the Presbyterian Church, and a moderator of the United Presbyterian Women, and the Patchwork Quilters Guild in Leoti, Kansas.

On April 2, 1950, she married LeRoy “Buck” Elder in Leoti, Kansas.  He passed away on December 7, 2005, in Leoti, Kansas.

Survivors include her One Son - Vaughn & Tina Elder of Leoti, Kansas, Three Daughters - Brenda Moody of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karen Elder & Ron Rice of Antonino, Kansas, Richelle Elder of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Two Granddaughters - Tissha & Josh Brumm of Wellesley, Mass, Tirra & Jordan Carter of Scott City, Kansas, and Eight Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, One Brother - Gordon Baker, and One Sister - Arlene Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Steve Payne presiding.

Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Price & Sons Funeral home in Leoti, Kansas.
