Marjorie Joyce Cooper, age 84, died Wednesday, November 5 , 2008 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born July 5, 1924 in Kremlin, Oklahoma the daughter of F.O. & Lida Marie Anderson Rush. A resident of Garden City since 1997, moving from Billings, Oklahoma, she was a homemaker. Marjorie was a Rosie the Riveter at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK, during WWII, where she met her husband. She enjoyed crosswords & word puzzles and watching sports on the television.
She was a member of the Methodist Church of Billings, Oklahoma.
On July 11, 1944, she married Herman O. Cooper at Amarillo, Texas. He died November 23, 2002 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two daughters, Sheryl J. Dick (Phil) and Janis K. Cornett (David), both of Garden City, KS; Five Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, William D. Rush, and a sister, Dorotha H. Bolick.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. David Bell presiding.
There will be no public visitation.
The family requests memorials be given to the Western Kansas Community Foundation in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
