Marilyn Rundell Peterson, age 71, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, near Knob Noster, Missouri from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on March 13, 1936 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Ira Boyd and Helen K. Buhrle Rundell. She graduated from Bavaria High School in 1954. In 1958, she graduated from the Kansas State University Nursing Department and later received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan. A resident of Garden City since 1990 moving from Coldwater, Kansas she had been a Nurse with the Public Health Department.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Garden City, Kansas. She also belonged to Sigma Theta Tau International (Honor Society of Nursing), the Kansas State Nurses Assn., the Kansas Parish Nurse Ministry, the Kansas Public Health Assn., the Kansas State University Alumni Assn., and the Kansas Associations of Local Health Departments.
On Sept. 20, 1958 she married Rev. Arthur L. Peterson in Bavaria, Kansas. He died Sept. 27, 1993. She then married Gale W. Rundell on Dec. 1, 2003 in Colorado. He died April 8, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter â Kristine Anne Peterson.
Survivors include: Two Sons Kurt Donald Peterson of Garden City, Kansas Karl Dean (& Amy) Peterson of Burnsville, Minnesota One Brother IB "Sonny" (& Verna) Rundell of Syracuse, Kansas Four Sisters Marjorie (& Don) Lear of Garden City, Kansas Mary Katherine (& Jack) Larsen of Salina, Kansas Carolyn Kay (& Jim) Cassidy of Mission, Kansas Margaret Ellen (& Ronny) Ray of Overland Park, Kansas One Grandson Jack Robert Peterson of Burnsville, Minnesota Two Granddaughters Emma Louise Peterson of Burnsville, Minnesota Betsy Jane Peterson of Burnsville, Minnesota
Interment services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 21, 2007 in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday @ the Presbyterian Church in Garden City with the Rev. Dave Sweley presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00 am-8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with the family being in attendance from 6:00-8:00pm to receive friends.
