Garden City, Kansas Marilyn A. Laremore, age 77, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on August 9, 1931 in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of David and Emma Lena Metz Miller. In 1949 she graduated from Great Bend High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. A resident of Garden City since 1968 moving from Larned, Kansas, she had recently moved to Oklahoma City to be near her daughter. She was a homemaker and worked part time in retail clothing sales. She had been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City, Kansas for 40 years and had recently joined the Messiah Lutheran Church in Okalhoma City, Oklahoma. She was also a Brownie Troop Leader and had been a member of the Sweet Adelines Singing Group and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed shopping, watching movies, attending musical productions and spending time with her grandchildren. Before health issues prevented her from doing so, she enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday. On August 6, 1950, she married Luther "Bud" Laremore in Great Bend, Kansas. He died February 24, 2000 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Marnie Childs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Leticia Porter of Shawnee, Kansas and Two Grandchildren, Nathan Childs and Victoria Porter. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Ian Childs in June, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Lyle Stuehrenberg presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am until noon Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Casady School; 9500 N. Pennsylvania Ave.; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73120 in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
