When someone mentioned that they would like to see some part of the country, Marian was known to state, " Well, I'll go with you, let's pack". Marian was a grand fisherwoman, and spent many days with her family at Swanson Reservoir in Nebraska, often using her handmade club to get the big one's in the boat for pictures of proof of the one's that didn't get away. Marian was a member of the National Education Association, Kansas Education Association, the Leoti United Methodist Church, Leoti United Methodist Women and the Leoti chapter of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
