Margaret Medina

Margaret M. Medina, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Parklane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. Margaret was born October 13, 1926 at Manassa, Colorado, the daughter of Esteban & Maria Carlotta Lopez Medina. A resident of Leoti since 1954 moving from Sugar City, Colorado, she was a homemaker, enjoying quilting, knitting, baking and her family. Margaret was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas. On August 18, 1944, she married Frank P. Medina at St. Peter Catholic Church in Ordway, Colorado. Frank passed away on January 10, 1986 in Garden City, Kansas. Margaret's surviving family includes her Nine children and their spouses - Charles & Laura Medina of Leoti, Kansas, Maryann & Charles Knowlton of Garden City, Kansas, Rosemary & Daryl Scheibmeir of Piqua, Kansas, Lillie Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas, Gloria Fulton of Garden City, Kansas, Evelyn Gibson of Nampa, Idaho, Steven Medina of Waterloo, Kansas, Rachel & Ray Morris of Amarillo, Texas, Edward & Dawn Medina of Sedgwick, Kansas, One brother - Ben Medina of Pueblo West, Colorado, One sister - Priscilla Jaramillo of Roswell, New Mexico, Twenty-Two Grandchildren, Thirty-Two Great Grandchildren. Her parents, husband and a step grandson, Brandon Lane, preceded her in death. Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, February 16, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm Wednesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to Wichita County Long Term Care or Parklane Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.
