Margaret Kirk

Margaret Laverne Kirk, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Margaret was born February 28, 1923 in Leoti, Kansas the daughter of Curtis D'Owen & Beatrice Ruth Page Lane. Margaret was a lifetime resident of Leoti, a former clerk at Western Hardware in Leoti and a homemaker. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge all of Leoti, Kansas. On August 4, 1941 she married James Eugene Kirk at Garden City, Kansas. He passed away on November 20, 1981 at Leoti, Kansas. Margaret's surviving family includes- Two sons- Jerry Kirk- Kinsley, Kansas James Kirk- Leoti, Kansas One brother- Ross Lane- Baldwin City, Kansas Two sisters- Nevada Parker- Leoti, Kansas Katherine Roberts- Scott City, Kansas Eight grandchildren- Christina V. Kirk-Kazhe- Elk Grove, California Curtis A. Kirk- Anchorage, Alaska Michael Eugene Kirk- Sacramento, California Erik Kirk- Kinsley, Kansas Tammy Kirk- Kinsley, Kansas Cody Kirk- Washington State Kenna Sue Kirk- Wisconsin State Zachary Kirk- Kansas State nine great grandchildren Her parents, her husband, two brothers, Robert Lane in 1961 and Tom Lane in 1992, two sisters, Blythe Tripp in 1998 and Lois Funk in 2004 and three sons, Dennis Kirk in 1983, Rex A. Kirk in 1986 and Curtis E. Kirk in 2009 preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or Wichita County Health Center in care of the funeral home. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday and from 1:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
