L. Mae Pfanenstiel, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on May 10, 1925 in Vermilion County, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Iva Mae Dunovan Hughes. In 1961 she moved to Leoti, Kansas from Crowley County, Colorado. After attending seminars to become a certified reflexologist, she practiced for 20 years out of her home in Leoti. In 1986, Mae and Louis began spending the winters in Florida and in 1991 they purchased a home in Haines City, Florida. Later in 1998 they moved to Palisade, Colorado and then to Scott City, Kansas in 2005.
Memberships include the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.
On February 1, 1945 she married Louis Daniel Pfanenstiel in Ordway, Colorado. He survives.
Survivors Include her Husband - Louis D. Pfanenstiel of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Linda & Terry Eddy of Aztec, New Mexico, Four Sons - Phil & Sharon Pfanenstiel of Elk City, Oklahoma, Dave Pfanenstiel of Naples, Florida, Stewart Fabrega of Naples, Florida, Jerry & Dana Pfanenstiel of Scott City, Kansas, Seventeen Grandchildren and Twenty One Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, One Sister and Three Brothers.
Memorial Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 with Fr. Warren Stecklein presiding.
Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or Park Lane Nursing Home % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
