Luiz Orozco

Luiz Ramon "Blackie" Orozco, age 65, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 25, 1942 in Lamar, Colorado the son of Pasqual M. and Josephine Delfina Jara Orozco. A resident of Garden City since 1978 moving from Ottawa, Kansas he was a maintenance mechanic for the Northern Natural Gas Company.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas. He belonged to AARP the Harley Owners Group and was an avid Harley Davidson Rider. He also was involved with the Patriot Guard.

On December 30, 1974 he married Phyllis E. King @ Garden City, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include: Three Sons, Scot Orozco of Houston, Texas, Luiz R. Orozco Jr. of Garden City, Kansas and Felip S. Orozco of Garden City, Kansas; Four Daughters, Celestia Delinda Orozco, Lea Orozco of Garden City, Kansas, Selyna Brown of Henderson, Nevada and Ana Patricia Cordoba of Wichita, Kansas; One Brother, Vincente Orozco of North Dakota; Three Sisters, Sister Teresa Orozco of Great Bend, Kansas, Susana Stegman of Lamar, Colorado and Denise Estep of Loveland, Colorado; and Sixteen Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Juanita Calderon and a brother, Pasqual Orozco Jr.

Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.

The funeral mass will be said at 11:00am on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the church with Father Floyd McKinney presiding.

Friends may call from Noon until 8:00pm on Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Luiz Orozco Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
