S. Lucille Hallmark, age 97, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born November 3, 1912 in McCune, Kansas the daughter of Arch M. and Ethel Florence Clark Henderson. A resident of Garden City since 1928 moving from Cherokee County, Kansas, she had been a sales clerk for several area businesses including Duckwalls, Alco, Walls Food Liner and Coast-To-Coast all of Garden City, Kansas.
She was the oldest living member of the Nazarene Church of Garden City, Kansas and was involved with all three ground breaking ceremonies for the church.
In February of 1928, she married Rolland Raymond Jobe. He died later that year. Then on September 17, 1932, she married Johnnie Taylor Hallmark in Lakin, Kansas. He died April 7, 1980 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors include: Two Daughters, Dorothy I. Unruh of Stafford, Kansas and Betty Mast of Scott City, Kansas. 10 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren and 40 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Church Of The Nazarene in Garden City with Rev. Timothy Fields presiding.
Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm on Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home.
