Loyde A. Gerber, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 29,1928 in Fowler, Kansas, the son of Ben and Martha Strasser Gerber. A resident of Logan County, Kansas from 1967 until 1997 when he moved to Scott City, Kansas, he was a Farmer and Rancher. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas. He was a 4th Degree Knights Of Columbus and also a member of the KLA and the ELKS Lodge of Garden City.
On September 12, 1961 he married Anne Walters in Garden City, Kansas. She passed away on January 17, 1981 in Scott City, Kansas.
Other Survivors his Two Sons - Ben & Jennifer Gerber of Garden City, Kansas, Chad & Elizabeth Gerber of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Irene & Lance Huck of Scott City, Kansas, Heidi & Bryan Stuhlsatz of Rogers, Minnesota, One Sister - Lucy Ann Linenberger of Garden City, Kansas and Twelve Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife - Anne, Two Brothers and Three Sisters.
Vigil Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding.
Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or Scott County Indoor Arena % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
