Louise McCombs

Louise Cecelia McCombs, age 72, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. Louise was born September 10, 1940 at Leoti, Kansas the daughter of Ludwig & Anne Bieker Berning. She was a lifetime resident of both Scott & Wichita counties, a homemaker and cook for the Scott Community School District # 466 for 32 years. Louise was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas, as well as several bible study groups and several quilting groups. On September 11, 1992 she married Bucky McCombs at Las Vegas, Nevada. Survivors include Her husband - Bucky McCombs of Scott City, Kansas, Five Children - Pam & Jay Powers of Holcomb, Kansas, Daniel & Lisa Hanzlick of Shawnee, Kansas, David Hanzlick of Liberal, Kansas, Peggy & Greg Hobelmann of Smith Center, Kansas, Darin Hanzlick of Olathe, Kansas, Three Stepchildren - Kammie & Kevin Good of Parker, Colorado, Quig & Jaris McCombs of Goodland, Kansas, Monique Eaves of Parker, Colorado, Five Siblings - Raymond Berning of Wichita, Kansas, Andy Berning of Red Cloud, Nebraska, Kenny Berning of Portland, Oregon, Jerome Berning of Scott City, Kansas, Linda Appl of Atlanta, Georgia, Fourteen grandchildren. Her parents, and four siblings, Frieda Perry, Margaret Herman, Leona Armstrong and Don Berning have preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, June 31, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas with the Reverend Dennis Carter officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00pm Saturday and from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or to St. Catherine Hospice in care of the funeral home.
