Louis Vasquez

Louis N. Vasquez, age 88, died Monday, December 18, 2012 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on January 15, 1924 in Manzanola, Colorado, the son of Florentino and Concha Navarez Vasquez. A resident of Garden City since 1970 he had worked for the ACRA Plant in Garden City retiring in 1984. Louis was a very spiritual man and he enjoyed gardening, carpentry and spending time with his family and friends. On January 14, 1950, he married Helen B. Apodaca in Raton, New Mexico. She survives. Other Survivors Include: Two Sons, Eddie Vasquez of Hutchinson, Kansas and Terry Vasquez of Garden City, Kansas; Two Daughters, Patricia Martinez of Northglenn Colorado and June Reyes of Garden City, Kansas; One Brother, Pete Vasquez of Ordway, Colorado; Two Sisters, Louise Synisski of La Junta, Colorado and Mollie Reyna of Missouri; Eighteen Grandchildren and Thirty-Seven Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seventeen Brothers and Sisters, a Great-Grandson, James Dar Bitner and a Great-Granddaughter, Aaliyah Flores. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1-8pm on Thursday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Louis Vasquez Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
