Louis Daniel Pfanenstiel, age 91, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on April 26, 1923 in Sterling, Colorado, the son of Fred & Anna Pfiefer Pfanenstiel.
On February 1, 1945 he married L. Mae Hughes in Ordway, Colorado. She passed away on May 18, 2010 in Scott City, Kansas. In 1961 they moved to Leoti, Kansas from Crowley County, Colorado. In 1986, Louis and Mae began spending the winters in Florida and in 1991 they purchased a home in Haines City, Florida. Later in 1998 they moved to Palisade, Colorado and then to Scott City, Kansas in 2005. He was a farmer.
Memberships include the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.
Survivors Include his One Daughter - Linda & Terry Eddy of Aztec, New Mexico, Three Sons - Phil & Sharon Pfanenstiel of Elk City, Oklahoma, Dave Pfanenstiel & Stewart Fabrega of Naples, Florida, Jerry & Dana Pfanenstiel of Scott City, Kansas, Ten Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, One Grandson - Perry Pfanenstiel, One Granddaughter - Sheila Pfanenstiel, One Great Grandson - Koltin Hurtt, Four Brothers and Four Sisters.
Memorial Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Monday June 9, 2014 with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding.
Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or Park Lane Nursing Home % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
