Lou Schwanke

Lou L. Schwanke, age 82, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. She was born on May 3, 1926 in Silver Lake, Kansas, the daughter of Archie E. and Ethel Mae Mann Landis. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1957 moving from Texaco, New Mexico, she was a homemaker and part owner of Schwanke Harvesting. She was a member of the Christian Faith. On May 7, 1949 she married Herman John Schwanke in Topeka, Kansas. He passed away on December 7, 1985 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors include Two Sons - Randall & Nancy Schwanke of Scott City, Kansas, Maurice & Julie Schwanke of Anna, Texas, Two Daughters - Lesa & Dennis Nuzback of Ankeny, Iowa, Connie & Robert Rusbarsky of Kansas City, Missouri, One Sister - Hermoine & Mark Lowe of Topeka, Kansas, Eleven Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband. Funeral Services will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls officiating. Memorials may be given to the Bible Christian Church of Garden City, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
