Loretta Jean "Jeanie: Buttram, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, California after gallantly fighting complications of cancer. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Carl Joseph & Audrey Fern Case Sheils. A resident of California since the 1960's, she spent the last 23 years at South Lake Tahoe, California. She was a retired business women. On Jan 9 1961 she married Robert Buttram in Rapid City, South Dakota. Survivors include her husband - Robert Buttram of South Lake Tahoe, California; One Son - Jeffrey Sooter of South Lake Tahoe, California; One Daughter - Susan (Joseph) Gaestel of Merced, California; Grandchildren â Dianna McKenny of Kissimmee, Florida; Bryan Sooter of Anchorage, Alaska; Scott Sooter of South Lake Tahoe, California; Joseph Gaestel V of Merced, California; Jorden Gaestel of Groveland, California; Justin Gaestel of Merced, California; Sarah Gaestel of Merced, California; and Great Grandchild - Erik McKenny of Kissimmee, Florida. She is also survived by four siblings: Richard Sheils of Wichita, Kansas; Charlene Hughes of Scott City, Kansas; Marilyn Wright of Topeka, Kansas; and Jim Sheils of Cheney, Kansas. Family and Friends are invited to attend memorial services: Memorial Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009 with Fr. Warren Stoecklien presiding. Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. There will be no calling times.
