Lewis L. Kemper, age 87, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born January 10, 1923 in Glencoe, Oklahoma the son of Eugene Levi and Rowena Beckett Kemper. A resident of Garden City since 1930 moving from Pawhuska, Oklahoma he had been the owner and operator of Kemper Backhoe Service for several years. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and was a WWII US Marine Air Corps Veteran.
On April 15, 1949 he married Elizabeth Faith "Betty" Lorenz in Garden City, Kansas. She died July 17, 2003 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Beth Kemper Pucket of Ulysses, Kansas and Annetta Marie Kemper of Cape Coral Florida; Three Sons, Mark Flurry Kemper of Wichita, Kansas, Sherfy Lorenz Kemper of Topeka, Kansas and Eugene Levi Kemper of Montezuma, Kansas; Three Sisters, Etta Ruth Larson of Council Grove, Kansas Betty Jo Davis of Overland Park, Kansas and Laura Janice Thompson of California; Ten Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hallie Jean Adler & Lonabelle Martin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Pastors Charity Sandstrum & Adam Kemper presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00am until 8:00pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
