Leon Stegman

Leon Stegman, age 48, former Garden City resident, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at his home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He was born September 28, 1957 @ Kinsley, KS the son of Leonard & Agnes Strecker Stegman. A resident of Pauls Valley since 2003, moving from Garden City, he was a mechanic for Steve Thompson Automotive. He was a sergeant in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church of Pauls Valley, Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Veterans of the Vietnam War. On May 6, 1983, he married Loree Agan. He later married Sheri Krenzel. Survivors include: 1 Daughter - Katie Stegman of Liberal, KS, his mother - Agnes Stegman of Garden City, KS, 2 Brothers - John Stegman of Des Moines, Iowa and Andy Stegman of Derby, KS, 5 Sisters - Christina Ladd of Garden City, KS, Roseann Shirrill of Derby, KS, Peggy Unruh of Montezuma, KS, Loretta Tackett of Buda, TX and Noreen Stonehocker of Clearwater, KS. 1 Granddaughter -Haven Holifield of Liberal, KS. He was preceded in death by his father â Leonard Stegman. Vigil Service will be at 8:00pm, Monday, March 27, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father James E. Baker presiding. Inurnment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas, with Military Rites conducted by the National Honor Guard. There will be no calling times. Memorials may be given to the Leon Stegman Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
