Leo Ochs

Leo E. Ochs, age 89, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas. He was born on September 2, 1919 in Hoisington, Kansas the son of Edward and Ida Popp Ochs. A resident of Cawker City, Kansas since 1990 moving from Holcomb, Kansas he was a farmer, rancher and carpenter. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Downs, Kansas. On August 22, 1948 he married Ruby E. Bohling in Wichita, Kansas. She died February 2, 2000 in Downs, Kansas. Survivors Include: One Son, Ronald D. Ochs of Cawker City, Kansas; Two Brothers, Leroy Ochs of Springfield, Missouri and Walter Ochs of Garden City, Kansas; Five Sisters, Lenora Wartman of Pierceville, Kansas, Esther Lewis of Stratton, Colorado, Edna Crase of Garden City, Kansas, Wilma Guy of Longmont, Colorado, Barbara Petr of Blue Rapids, Kansas and One Grandson and Two Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Three Brothers, Paul, Elmer and Melvin Ochs, and Three Sisters, Ruth Mai, Alvera Litzenberger and Leona Hurd. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Lyle Stuehrenberg presiding. Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
