Lee "Hoss" Oberheim, 57, of Garden City passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, May 8th, 2013. He was born April 4th, 1956 to J.P. & Susie Oberheim in Leoti, KS and was a Garden City resident since 1968. On June 24, 1978, he married his best friend, Stacy Breit, and they lived happily ever after. Together they have two daughters, Becky, who is married to Joe Hill, and Jessie, who is married to Roman Wells, all of Garden City. He had three grandchildren and was anticipating the arrival of the fourth. Gavin, Maddex and Paisley loved their Pappy past the moon and stars and he loved every minute they spent together. He established H&H Machine Shop in 1985 and proudly operated it for 20 years. Welding was his passion and he could weld anything big or small from a church steeple to custom hot rod parts. He valued the friendships he made at the shop as much as the work. In 2004, he went to work at C Bar H, and in 2009 he began working as a welder for KDOT. He had three siblings, Rex Oberheim of Mountain Home, AR, Rod Oberheim of Garden City, KS, and Crystal Dailey and husband, Craig, of Kearny, NE. He was a good ol' boy who knew everone in town and loved rock-n-roll, photography, tinkering in his garage, spending time in his yard and enjoying his pond, and was always eager to help others. He collected Jack Daniels memorabilia and was a Tennessee Squire. He was a member of the Tyrian Masonic Lodge #246. Visitation hours are 10am-8pm, Monday, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral is scheduled for 10am Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Memorials may be given to the Lee Oberheim Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
