LaVerne McClellan, age 98, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on September 25, 1913, in rural Scott County, Kansas, the daughter of Albert A. and Irma Collins French. She had worked as a secretary at Scott Community High School from 1961-1976.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Scott City VIP Center, both of Scott City, Kansas.
On September 13, 1937 she married Van McClellan at Lake McBride, Scott County, Kansas. He passed away on August 26, 1993 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include her One Son - Randall & Jane Ann McClellan of Winfield, Kansas, One Grandson - Brian McClellan & Fiancé - Tami Stelting of Deerfield, Kansas, One Granddaughter - Kelli Harmon of Wichita, Kansas, One Sister - Aileen Ross of Scott City, Kansas, Two Step Grandsons - Eric Angevine of Charlottesville, Virginia, Marc Angevine of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Four Great Grandchildren - Brandon, McKinley, Jack and Ty and a host of beloved, special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and One Sister - Mildred Conine.
Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or Scott County EMT's % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
