Garden City, Kansas Lanny Ross Harvey, age 70, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 in Finney County, Kansas from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born January 10, 1940 on the family farm in Trego County, Kansas the son of John and Louise Unruh Harvey. A resident of Garden City since 1972 moving from Dodge City, Kansas he had worked as a bank loan officer and a real estate agent and was actively involved in local area racing for over 37 years.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, was a US Army Veteran and was a past member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed having morning coffee at Dillons with his friends.
On May 29, 1960 he married Betty Base in Pawnee Rock, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Todd Harvey of Castle Rock, Colorado; Two Daughters, Terri Worf of Garden City, Kansas and Julie Michaud of Colorado Springs, Colorado; One Sister, Phyllis Womack of Tyler, Texas; Eleven Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. David Bell presiding.
Interment will be held at a later date.
There will be no calling times at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the Disabled American Veterans both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
