L. Heinemann

L. J. Heinemann, former long time resident of Garden City, Kansas, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at his home in Vancouver, Washington, at the age of 91. With him was his wife of 68 years, Roma, and their daughter, Kathy. L.J. was a 1st Lt. In the Army Air Corps, serving with the 15th Air Corps based in Italy and flew several combat missions during WWII. He was a long time businessman in Garden City, KS, owning and operating Heinemann Agency, an insurance and real estate company, from 1947 to 1975. In 1975 he sold the agency and it became Rutter-Kline. He was a member of the St. Dominic's Catholic Church, VFW, and Knights of Columbus and Southwinds Country Club all of Garden City. Other survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Les and Charlotte Heinemann of Garden City, KS; his sister, Millie Rintoul of Hutchinson, KS and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 10:00am on October 4, 2008 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Southwest, 100 E 33rd Street, Suite #201, Vancouver WA 98663.
