KENNETH IVAN RUSSELL, AGE 81, PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2006 AT SCOTT COUNTY HOSPITAL IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. KENNETH WAS BORN OCTOBER 4, 1925 IN GOVE COUNTY, KANSAS, THE SON OF ROBERT A. & IVA MAY WRIGHT RUSSELL. HE HAD BEEN A LIFETIME RESIDENT OF WESTERN KANSAS AND WAS RETIRED FROM THE GOVE COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT. HE WAS A WORLD WAR TWO U.S. ARMY VETERAN.
KENNETH WAS A MEMBER OF THE V.F.W. IN OAKLEY, KANSAS.
ON JULY 12, 1941 HE MARRIED MARY JANE WILLIAMS AT GOVE, KANSAS. SHE PASSED AWAY ON MARCH 23, 2002 AT HAYS, KANSAS. KENNETH'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- A SON AND HIS WIFE LARRY & RHONDA RUSSELL- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS A GRANDSON- CRAIG RUSSELL- DIGHTON, KANSAS A GRANDDAUGHTER- CARLA WALKER- UTICA, KANSAS A BROTHER- HOWARD RUSSELL- SYDNEY, NEBRASKA TWO SISTERS- DOROTHY BURRIS- SHARON SPRINGS, KANSAS VIOLET KERR- OAKLEY, KANSAS SIX GREAT GRANDCHILDREN HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY THREE BROTHERS, ORVAL RUSSELL, ELMER RUSSELL & KEITH RUSSELL.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2006 AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN HEALY, KANSAS; WITH THE REVEREND JIM BRACKETT OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN PYRAMID VIEW CEMETERY WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS PROVIDED BY THE FUNERAL HONORS DETAIL, U.S. ARMY, FORT RILEY, KANSAS.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SATURDAY AND FROM 1:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SUNDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
