Kenneth Allen Hooker, age 92, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Wichita County Medical Center in Leoti, Kansas. Kenneth was born January 18, 1916 at Gridley, Kansas, the son of Ernest & Lola Allen Hooker. He was a farmer/stockman and had been a Wichita County resident since 1921 moving from Gridley, Kansas. He was a United States Army veteran of World War Two. Kenneth's memberships include- United Methodist Church- Leoti, Kansas Wichita County Rodeo & Show Horse Assn.- " Leoti Rough Riders- " Museum of the Great Plains- " The Pickers and Grinners band National Rifle Assn. Life members of both the V.F.W. & The American Legion On August 16, 1944, he married Eleanor Fleagle at Lawrence, Kansas. She passed away on July 28, 1996 at Leoti, Kansas. Kenneth's survivors include His Caegiver Del Thrascher- Oakley, Kansas One brother- Norman Hooker- Sierra Vista, Arizona Barbie Blackburn- Santa Barbara, California Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Hooker and a sister, Forestine Keaton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverends Rick Just & Paul McNall officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery in Northeast Wichita County with full military honors provided by The United States Army Funeral Honors Detail from Fort Riley, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Museum of the Great Plains in care of the funeral home. Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
