Kenneth W. Eikenberry, age 94, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Wichita County Long Term Care in Leoti, Kansas. Kenny was born May 1, 1918 at Liberty, Kansas, the son of Wilson & Josephine J. VanCleav Eikenberry, he was a retired grain elevator operator and had been a Leoti resident since 1958 moving from the Liberty, Kansas area.
Kenny was a member of the United Methodist Church and an over 30 year member of the former Leoti Lions Club, both of Leoti, Kansas.
On May 24, 1941 he married Ruby M. Johnston at Independence, Kansas. Ruby passed away on February 11, 2011 at Leoti, Kansas.
Kenny's surviving family includes-
Two sons-
Kenneth G (Jerry) & Patsy Eikenberry- Leoti, Kansas
Donald E. (Don) & Trudy Eikenberry- Scott City, Kansas
One brother-
Reed Eikenberry- Cherryvale, Kansas
Five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandchild have preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating. A reception will be held at the United Methodist Church in Leoti following services.
Due to remodeling at the funeral home, friends may call from 10:00 am until noon , Monday at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas.
