Keith Albert Janzen, age 82, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born July 13, 1925 in Lorraine, Kansas the son of Albert A. and Clara A. Schroeder Janzen. A resident of Scott City since 1947 moving from McPherson, Kansas he was a farmer and was a previous owner of the Scott City Grain Company. In 1943 he graduated from Galva High School and worked with his father on the family farm.
Keith was a member of the United Methodist Church of Scott City and was a WWII US Army veteran. He belonged to the Anthem Masonic Lodge #284, the Scottish Rite, the Scott County Shrine Club and was a Past Potentate and member of the Royal Order of Jesters both with the ISIS Shrine temple of Salina. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge of Garden City, belonged to the American Legion of Lyons, Kansas and was a past board member of the Scott County ASCS office.
On December 29, 1949 he married Carolyn Louise Shriver at Hobbs, New Mexico. She survives.
Other survivors include: Two Daughters, Elissa Bahm of Scott City, Kansas and Ann Price of Garden City, Kansas; One Son, Terry A. Janzen of Minnesota; One Sister, Orla Herzog of Lyons, Kansas; One Brother, Loren Janzen of Scott City, Kansas; Seven Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alberta Schreck.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Scott City with the Reverends Randy Robinson and David Bell presiding.
Friends may call from 9:00am â 8:00pm Wednesday and Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Keith Janzen Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.
