Kay Prewitt Kreutzer, age 89, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born July 8, 1918 in Arkansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Orville A. and Ruth A. Kinlund Wineinger. She graduated from the Kansas University School of Nursing in 1940 and then worked as an R.N. in San Francisco, California during World War II. She later moved to Tribune, Kansas where she was an RN at the Greeley County Hospital for several years retiring in the late 1970's. In 2005 she moved to Garden City from Leoti, Kansas.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Tribune, Kansas. She also belonged to the Finney County Senior Center and the KU Alumni Association. She enjoyed quilting and playing bridge.
In November of 1940 she married Frank Prewitt in Kansas City, Missouri. He died in 1978 in Garden City, Kansas. Then in August of 1987 she married B.G. Kreutzer. He survives.
Other Survivors Include: One Son; Robert D. Prewitt of Garden City, Kansas: Three Step-Sons; John Kreutzer of Haswell, Colorado; Gary Kreutzer of Leoti, Kansas and Daren Kreutzer of Leoti, Kansas; One Step-Daughter; Charlene Van Buerkleo of Wichita, Kansas: Ten Grandchildren, Thirteen Great-Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow and Duane Wineinger and a sister, Betty Davison.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm(MT) on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Rev. Les Ellis presiding.
Friends may call from 1pm-8pm on Monday and from 10am-8pm Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Kay Kreutzer Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
