Katie E. Bontrager, age 94, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on July 2, 1916 in Thomas, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edward F. and Fannie Yoder Bontrager. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1945 moving from Yoder, Kansas, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas and Gideon's International. On March 28, 1942 she married Sam D. Bontrager in Yoder, Kansas. He passed away on November 7, 1986 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors Include her Two Sons - Jerre & Lucy Bontrager of Hesston, Kansas, Dennis Bontrager of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Judy & Aaron Stoltzfus of Colorado Springs, Colorado, One Sister - Alice Stutzman of South Hutchinson, Kansas, Three Sister In Laws - Ida & Floyd Kaufman of Buhl, Idaho, Alice Bontrager of Sarasota, Florida, Mickey Bontrager of Wichita, Kansas, Five Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Two Brothers and Six Sisters. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 with the Rev. Kyle Evans and Rev. Rodney Stromlund presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials in Lieu of flowers may be given to the Gideon's International or Park Lane Nursing Home % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and the Family will be available to receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
