Josephine “Jo” Schwaiger Wilken, age 85, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on March 14, 1931 in Cullman, Alabama the daughter of Joe Otto and Dovie Jane Williamson Schwaiger.
She moved from Alabama with her family in 1941 to Garden City, Kansas, before moving to Leoti, Kansas in 1956.
She Married Irvin Wilken on January 15, 1949.
She was a member of the Leoti United Methodist Church since 1956. She assisted with bible school, was a girl scout leader, a room mother for both her daughters, on the prom committee, an active volunteer at the Wichita County Long Term Care Facility and avid supporter of the bingo at longterm Care Center. Jo loved gardening especially flowers, and was known for her pies and homemade noodles. She worked the duck pond for 10 years at the Wichita County Fair and helped paint the fence for the carnival.
Her greatest love was her family, so proud of them for getting a good education, all graduated from college. She had wonderful daughters and sons-in-law, and the best grandchildren who gave her the greatest great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jody Schwaiger, and her long time companion, Cyril Kleyman.
Funeral Services United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas
11a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Visitation will be held from 12-8 on Thursday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
